Batemans Bay Boat Licence Course

Complete Your NSW Boat Licence Course in Batemans Bay in January 2017

Maritime Training School is excited to announce our return to Batemans Bay for the first week of January 2017. Simple format, easy to understand course and you can get your boat licence while you enjoy your holiday!

Boat and PWC Licence Theory and Exam

Students can attend the theory and exam for both the boat and PWC courses at the Nelligen Mechanics Hall from 5pm to 9pm. During this time students will learn the rules and regulations of operating power boats on the

waterways. Students will also complete the exam on the night – this comprises of 50 multiple choice questions for the boat licence and 15 for the PWC course.

Boat Licence Practical

Students can then attend a one hour practical session on the following day to complete the practical component for the boat licence. There is no practical requirement for the PWC licence. Hourly sessions are run from Nelligen Bay from 11am to 3pm. Our experienced and certified trainers will take you through all the practical requirements and you get to demonstrate your skills to our trainer in our boat.

Commonly Asked Boat Licence Course Questions

    • How long does the boat licence course run?

The course will commence at 5pm and will be completed by 9pm. The PWC course will run directly after and should be completed by 10pm at the latest.

    • Do I get my boat licence on the day?

At the end of the course you get your signed and completed application form to take to the RMS in Bateman’s Bay where they will issue your licence. A paper licence will be issued in the interim whilst a plastic licence will be posted to you but you can go out boating once you have the paper licence.

    • Can I do the PWC course on the same day?

Yes you can! The PWC course is theory only and no practical is required. Once you’ve completed and passed the general boat licence theory and exam, you can complete the PWC course.

    • How many questions are in the exam?

For the general boat licence course, there are 50 multiple choice questions. For the PWC there are 15 multiple choice questions.

    • What if I fail the boat licence exam?

If you fail the first time, our experienced trainers will explain any answers you got wrong and you can re-sit the exam.

    • What is the cost of the boat licence course?

Boat Licence theory, exam and practical – $285 per student.You must be at least 12 years old to participate in this course.

PWC/Jet ski Licence Course – $85 per student. You must be at least 12 years old to participate in this course.
